Are Valid Compliments Anonymous? How Reveals Work

Valid hides voter identities by default, but does not promise complete anonymity. Reveal features can disclose identity to a recipient. Understanding that distinction helps you decide what to say, how to interpret a compliment, and whether to purchase optional benefits.

What does hidden by default mean?

A vote can initially appear without the voter’s identity. That initial display is different from a promise that the identity can never be disclosed. Valid’s reveal features can show a voter’s name and profile photo to the person who received the vote.

Give compliments you would feel comfortable standing behind if the recipient learned they came from you. Do not rely on the default display to make harassment or an embarrassing joke consequence-free.

Can an anonymous question’s author be revealed?

Eligible anonymous school-question authors can also be revealed. The app displays a Reveal option where that feature is available. A voter reveal and a question-author reveal concern different actions: who answered a poll and who submitted the question.

Read the action shown on the current screen before using a reveal. Availability and allowances depend on the feature and your current benefits.

What does God Mode include?

God Mode is an optional paid subscription with reveal benefits. Reveal allowances, eligibility, any additional in-app point costs, and purchase terms are explained in the app. Check the current screen rather than assuming an older screenshot or another member’s allowance applies to you.

A reveal can disclose an identity, rather than merely offering a clue. This page does not promise unlimited reveals, a fixed allowance, or a particular price.

Before purchasing

Curiosity can make a purchase feel urgent. Families can agree on a spending boundary before using paid features. Paying to reveal someone should not be treated as a measure of friendship or self-worth.

What if a reveal or interaction worries me?

Use the report or block controls available for the interaction, or contact [email protected]. Describe the screen and what happened; share screenshots privately. Do not post someone else’s revealed identity publicly to escalate a conflict.

Read the parent FAQ for moderation and purchase questions and the Terms for the conditions of using Valid. Valid is intended for students ages 13 and older.
