Does Valid buy or sell data?

No. We do not buy or sell any data. Nor will we ever.

I got a text before I joined Valid. How?

Texts about Valid can include invitations shared by members and activity notifications sent by Valid. People saved in a member’s contacts can be included in polls before they create an account.

Receiving a text does not mean you have created a Valid account. Read why you received a text from Valid for the different message types and how to stop messages or request removal.

I don't want to be associated with Valid. How can I delete my information?

Email [email protected] and ask us to delete your information and suppress your phone number. We're happy to help, whether or not you've joined the app. We'll delete your information, subject to the retention requirements below, and suppress your number so friends cannot vote for it on Valid. We retain a limited suppression record to honor your request and prevent your number from being added back for voting.

Information We Collect

Account information, such as your phone number, name, age, school, grade, username, and profile details.
Contact information you choose to share so we can help you find classmates, invite friends, and power social features.
Poll, vote, invite, reveal, subscription, purchase, and app activity information.
Photos or profile images you choose to upload.
Device, log, analytics, diagnostic, and notification token information used to operate and improve the service.

How We Use Information

To create and secure your account.
To run polls, invites, reveals, notifications, subscriptions, and other app features.
To personalize your experience based on your school, contacts, and app activity.
To prevent spam, abuse, fraud, and unsafe behavior.
To troubleshoot, analyze performance, and improve Valid.

Contacts

If you grant contact access, we use contact data to help identify people you may know, show relevant classmates, and support invite flows. You can change contact permissions in your device settings.

Sharing

We do not buy or sell any data. We may share information with service providers that help us host the service, verify phone numbers, process purchases, send notifications, store data, measure app performance, and keep the service secure. We may also share information when required by law or to protect our users, rights, and service.

Subscriptions And Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Stripe, depending on where you purchase. Valid does not receive your full payment-card number. We receive transaction, customer, subscription, and entitlement information needed to unlock paid features, prevent duplicate purchases, validate billing status, and provide customer support.

Public Website Analytics

We use Google Analytics on our public website to count page views and clicks on the iPhone, Android, and parent FAQ buttons. This public-site tag does not run inside the Valid web app. We remove query strings and fragments from page addresses and send only the referring site's origin. Advertising signals and ad personalization are disabled. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after one day without extending their expiration, and this tag is disabled when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. You may request account deletion from within the app where available.

Children

Valid is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
