Valid is designed for fun, positive interactions between students. Polls and other activity must never be used to bully, humiliate, threaten, or deliberately embarrass someone.

Keep It Positive

Polls should be playful, complimentary, and appropriate. Do not submit content intended to make another person feel unsafe, ashamed, excluded, or uncomfortable.

Bullying And Harassment

We do not allow:

• Insults, degrading comparisons, or polls targeting someone's appearance, body, intelligence, popularity, identity, disability, or personal circumstances.
• Polls designed to embarrass, isolate, shame, or encourage others to gang up on someone.
• Threats, intimidation, stalking, blackmail, or repeated unwanted targeting.
• Content that encourages self-harm, violence, or harm toward another person.
• Attempts to evade moderation through coded language, misspellings, images, or inside jokes.

Something described as "just a joke" may still be removed if it targets or harms another person.

Ask Permission Before Posting

Before submitting a question, poll, image, or other content featuring a friend or anyone else, ask them first and only post it if they agree. You must have permission from everyone featured in the content. Do not pressure someone to say yes or post content about them after they have said no.

When Valid asks you to confirm “I have permission,” you are confirming that you have permission from anyone featured in the question or image to post that content.

Sexual Content And Exploitation

We do not allow sexual harassment, sexually explicit content, requests for intimate images, or content that sexualizes minors.

Hate And Discrimination

Content attacking or degrading someone because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or another protected characteristic is prohibited.

Privacy And Impersonation

Do not:

• Share another person's phone number, address, private messages, images, or other personal information without permission.
• Pretend to be someone else or create an account for another person without permission.
• Use Valid to locate, expose, or threaten someone.

Manipulation And Misuse

Do not manipulate voting, create deceptive accounts, spam users, evade restrictions, or use Valid's features to coordinate harassment.

Moderation And Reports

Every submitted poll goes through Valid's moderation process before it can be distributed. Because no moderation system is perfect, every poll also includes a report option. Our team reviews user reports within 15 minutes.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

• Remove or restrict content.
• Warn the responsible user.
• Limit access to particular features.
• Temporarily suspend or permanently remove an account.
• Preserve or disclose information when required by law or necessary to address an immediate safety risk.

We consider the content itself, its context, the severity of the behavior, and whether the conduct is repeated.

If Something Makes You Uncomfortable

Do not respond or retaliate. Report the content in the app. You or a parent or guardian may also contact us at [email protected].

If someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted adult immediately.
