Stop Valid Texts, Remove Your Information, or Stop Invitations

You can ask for help with Valid messages even if you have never installed the app. Stopping service texts, stopping invitations from an individual, removing information, and being excluded from polls involve different actions. This guide helps you make the request you intend.

1. Check which kind of message you received

Texts about Valid can include invitations a member sends through their phone and activity notifications sent by Valid’s messaging service. If the sender or reason is unclear, send the message privately to support for investigation. The message alone does not prove that you or your child created an account.

2. Stop service texts

For texts sent by Valid’s messaging service, reply STOP when that option is provided. You can also ask [email protected] to stop service texts to your number. Our policy is to send service notifications with recipient consent and honor opt-outs.

Keep a record of the request and any confirmation. If messages continue, share the later message, its date, and your earlier request privately with support.

3. Address invitations from an individual

If someone sent an invitation from their personal number, ask that person to stop or use your phone’s blocking controls. A service-text opt-out and blocking a personal sender address different channels; do not assume one stops the other.

4. Request removal or exclusion from voting

Members can select people saved in their contacts in polls before those people create an account. If you do not want to participate, ask support to remove your information and exclude your phone number from voting. You do not need to sign up to make this request.

Removal is subject to the retention provisions in our Privacy Policy. A limited suppression record is retained to honor your request and prevent your number from being added back for voting. Changing contact permission on a phone is not a substitute for a service-side removal request.

A message you can send to support

Please stop Valid service texts to my number, remove my information subject to applicable retention, and exclude my number from voting. I do not want to participate. Please confirm which requests have been completed.

Add the affected phone number privately when you contact [email protected]. Include a screenshot of a relevant message if it helps explain the issue. Avoid posting your number or a child’s information in public comments.

What if I only want one of these actions?

Say exactly which action you want. For example, you may want service messages stopped without requesting information removal. Ask support to clarify if a confirmation does not address the request you made.

For the explanation of contact access, member-composed invitations, and service notifications, read why you received a text from Valid. A message about a positive poll can still be unwanted, and we want to hear when the controls have not worked as expected.
